BKE –  Permanent-magnet brakes

Permanent magnet brake for stepper motors and brushless dc motors

In the BKE brake, the braking force is applied by means of a permanent magnet. To achieve the maximum braking force, it is necessary to break in the brake before the first use and then at intervals of max. four weeks. 

Recommendation:
Allow the motor to run at a speed of 200 rpm with the brake released, then apply the brake five times for 0.5 s.
